Students studying in the area of painting acquire knowledge within fine arts with particular regard to specific problems of the discipline and history of art. Graduates are prepared for using traditional techniques and modern means of artistic media as well as they obtain a comprehensive education - necessary theoretical and practical knowledge - within their artistic discipline, ensuring them the preparation for independent creative work and effective practicing of the profession. The studies prepare students for executing work within easel painting and similar techniques. Graduates as conscious participants of modern culture will combine humanistic knowledge with artistic experience by their own activities, a reflective attitude towards various manifestations and forms of modern culture as well as the analysis of phenomena in the area of art, recognizing their historical and modern aspects. The ability to speak creatively on painting and visual arts, the knowledge and understanding of modern media and their functions as well as their importance for art, culture and society, consist of the qualifications of the artist-painter. Education and professional preparation allow the graduates to seek employment in the areas of culture, art and education.
