Forms of the entrance examination
The three-stage competitive entrance examination for the areas of study conducted as full-time studies:
Long-cycle Master studies:
- conservation and restoration of works of art,
- painting,
- sculpture,
- graphic arts
First cycle studies:
- stage design,
- art education in plastic arts,
- intermedia,
- interior design
Time:
- stage I - 13, 14, 15 June, 2012 (candidates turn up on the examination on the day fixed by the commission),
- stage II - 20, 21, 22 June, 2012 (the mandatory practical examination lass for 3 days),
- stage III - 26, 27, 28 June, 2012 (candidates turn up on the examination on the day fixed by the commission)
The examination includes:
- stage I - review and evaluation of artistic and/or design works of candidates,
- stage II - practical (specialized) examination. Candidates execute specific drawing, painting, sculptural and design tasks as well as compositions of specialized exercises, depending on the selected area of study,
- stage III - examination in theory and interview. The Faculty Recruitment Commission verifies candidates knowledge of the problems appearing in the selected area of study.
Second cycle studies:
- stage design
Time:
- stage I - 15 June, 2012
- stage II - 27 June, 2012
- stage III - 28 June, 2012
The examination includes:
- review and evaluation of painting and drawing works of candidates, their photo and documentation of their design works as well as artistic initiatives,
- practical examination verifies candidates' design tasks and their presentations of stage design works,
- examination in theory verifies candidates' knowledge in history of world drama and theatre as well as film, problems of modern art and skills of a theatrical performance analysis.
Candidates are evaluated for their performance in three stages of the examination, in the stage II - all subjects/tasks of the practical examination.Candidates may be granted at most 150 points. The minimum required for passing the examination is 90 points (the total of the minima for specific stages). According to the principles of the examination, a successive group of candidates who have not obtained the required minimum of points, is eliminated.
One-stage multi-task entrance examination for design, conducted as full-time first cycle studies.
Time:
- candidates sit the examination on the day fixed by the commission between 11 and 28 June, 2012.
The examination includes:
- practical examination consisting of 2 tasks, the drawing and the construction ones,
- review and evaluation of portfolio of drawing and painting works as well as documentation of other artistic and design works, proving candidates' interests in the area of study (candidates' portfolios),
- interview combined with examination in theory concerning fundamentals of construction, function, technology and aesthetics of utility objects as well as professional interests of candidates. The examination in theory includes issues of history and modern problems of design.
A candidate may be granted at most 150 points. The minimum required for passing the examination is 90 points. Candidates successively placed within the admission limit on the ranking list shall be admitted to studies.
Entrance examination for areas of study, conducted as part-time first cycle studies:
- painting
- graphic arts
- interior design
Time:
- candidates sit the examination on the day fixed by the commission between 9 and 13 July, 2012.
The examination includes (depending on the area of study):
presentation of candidates' own artistic and design works related with a selected area of study, evaluation of documentation of their other artistic and design works,
- interview, concerning an analysis of presented works and verifying candidates' knowledge related with specific problems of the area of study.
A candidate may be granted at most 15 points for the examination. Obtaining at least 10 points is required for passing the examination.
Multi-task entrance examination for design, conducted as part-time first cycle studies
Time:
- candidates sit the examination on the day fixed by the commission between 9 and 13 July, 2012.
The examination includes:
- practical examination consisting of 2 tasks, the drawing and the construction ones,
- review and evaluation of portfolio of drawing and painting works as well as documentation of other artistic and design works, proving candidates' interests in the area of study (candidates' portfolios),
- interview combined with examination in theory concerning fundamentals of construction, function, technology and aesthetics of utility objects as well as professional interests of candidates. The examination in theory includes issues of history and modern problems of design.

- examination in theory verifying candidates’ knoledge of issues of the selected area of study.
A candidate may be granted at most 15 points for the examination. Obtaining at least 10 points is required for passing the examination.
Multi-task entrance examination for areas of study, conducted as full-time second cycle studies

Time:
- design - candidates sit the examination on the day fixed by the commission between 11 and 28 June, 2012.
- intermedia - candidates sit the examination on 27 June, 2012
The examination includes (depending on the area of study):
- design – two design tasks, review of candidates’ portfolios of works, executed during undergraduate studies, Bachelor degree project, other artistic works, interview combined with an examination in theory (concerning executed projects, portfolios, degree work, problems related with the profession of a designer; specialized examination in theory);
- intermedia – evaluation of portfolios and CVs of candidates, interview involving problems of intermedia in the environmental context, candidates’ interests and individual suggestions for the curriculum, a practical task – working our a project or a scenario on the prescribed topic.
Candidates may be granted at most 150 points. The minimum required for passing the examination is 90 points (the total of the minima for specific stages).
