Qualification rules
- All stages/tasks of the entrance examination, and all subjects/tasks of the practical examination in the stage II shall be evaluated. According to the rules of the competition, a successive group of candidates who have not obtained the required minimum of points shall be excluded after each stage.
- Candidates for the areas of design and intermedia are required to sit all tasks of the single-stage examination which are evaluated after completion of the qualification procedure.
- The candidates who have:
1) been admitted to all stages/tasks of the examination and
2) obtained the appropriate number of points for required subjects/tasks of the entrance examination and
3) been placed on the highest successive positions on the ranking list within the admission limit shall be admitted to studies.
- Total score of the candidate obtained by him/her during the examination is the basis for establishing the position of the candidate on the ranking list. The persons who have passed the examination (i.e. those who have obtained the required number of points), but they have been placed outsider the admission limit, shall not be admitted to studies because of the shortage of placements. In the case of a free placement within the admission limit, e.g. because of withdrawal or the failure to confirm the candidate's wish to take up studies, this placement shall be granted to the person who was awarded the highest position.
In the case of granting the equal number of point to several candidates as a result of the evaluation of all stages/tasks of the examination, the number of awarded points in the practical examination plays a decisive role in placing the candidate on the ranking list. In the case of the equal number of points granted for the practical examination, the Faculty Recruitment Commission takes a decision on the position of the candidate granting a higher position to the person who obtained more points for the specialized subject (see Course of the examination in specific areas of study).
- Necessary materials and tools which the candidate is responsible to ensure for themselves have been described in the practical examination section. Work stands and basic materials are ensured by the faculty.
- Winners and finalists of the Art Competition at central level, Section of Art, shall be relieved from the examination in theory (which is mandatory for candidates to first cycle studies and long-cycle Master studies) and shall be awarded the best result defined by the appropriate number of points for the respective test for the area of study.
- The winners of stage III of National Art Review, which is organized by the Centre for Artistic Education in Warszawa, being a unit of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, shall be relieved by the Academy from the entrance examination for studies. The Senate of the Academy shall ensure two placements within the admission limit for the winners of the above mentioned Review, which shall be organized in 2011, if they apply for admission to one of the areas of study in the discipline of fine arts. If more candidates apply, the candidate who was on higher position on the winners' list of the Review, shall be admitted.
