What you need to know

•    Persons who
- have a secondary education certificate obtained in Poland or abroad,
- in the case of candidates for second cycle studies, also a true copy or a copy certified by the home university of completing first cycle studies, second cycle studies or long-term cycle Master studies,
- shall present their works proving their artistic gifts and skills during the qualification procedure and have specialized knowledge,
- shall obtain a positive result in subjects/tasks of the entrance examination and shall be placed within the established admission limit on the ranking list
shall be admitted to studies.


•    The entrance examination for all areas of study at the Academy of Fine Arts is held only once a year: for full-time studies – in June, for part-time studies – in July.


•    Additional recruitment period may be announced by the Academy in the case of not completing admission limit for 1st year of studies after processing the request of the commission recruiting candidates for a given area and form of studies. Additional entrance examination shall be held in September.


•    A candidate may sit examination in one area of full-time studies selected from the educational offer of the Academy because of conducting the examinations for full-time studies in the same time by all recruitment commissions.


•    Candidates for full-time studies who shall obtain the minimum of points defining the positive result of the entrance examination in 2012, but they shall not be admitted to studies on the grounds of the ranking list of the examination results, may apply for admission to 1st year of part-time studies by registering online again for part-time studies and enclosing a certificate of passing the entrance examination. Those persons shall not go through other qualification procedures and shall not make any additional payment for them.


•    Candidates for full-time studies who shall not obtain the minimum of points defining the positive result of the entrance examination, may apply for admission to the first year of part-time studiem only through qualification procedures by registering themselves online again.


•    Lists of candidates admitted to a successive stage of the entrance examination, lists of results and final lists of admitted persons to specific areas of studies shall be announced at the same time by all commissions recruiting candidates to full-time studies. Similar procedure is in force in the case of part-time studies.


•    The Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow may suspend recruitment for 1st year of part-time studies of first or second cycles In the academic year 2012/2013 for the following areas of studies: Painting, Graphic Arts, Interior Design or Design, in the case if the number of registered candidates does not guarantee appropriate conducting of the competitive entrance examination.
