We invite you to the OPCJA Intermedia Department Gallery at 23 Berka Joselewicza Street, where the exhibition “Disturbances of Reality” will be on view starting Friday. The event is part of Cracow Art Week KRAKERS.
Distortions of reality happen to everyone, although not everyone realizes it. We often suppress signals about what is happening or adapt them to the illusions we create. Our brain shapes our perception of the physical and mental worlds by concealing all unconscious inferences (the mechanisms of which we are still learning). The illusions of the mind’s separateness and, at the same time, of direct access to the physical world through the senses (dualism) lead us to believe that we are separate beings operating in both worlds. Fortunately, by expressing ourselves through art and culture, we demonstrate that our experience and perception of the world is a more complex process…
